There are few better places to get back on the water than Ocean City, Maryland for the White Marlin Open.
After spending time getting El Bendido dialed in with repairs, maintenance and upgrades, the RI Breakers AC crew headed south to take on one of the biggest weeks in offshore fishing.
More than anything, it felt good to be fishing again.
Back Where We Belong
Coming into the White Marlin Open, this tournament was about getting the team back together, putting El Bendido through her paces and getting back to doing what we love.
From the run to the fishing days offshore, the boat performed exactly how we hoped following the work that had been completed. Everything came together for a great week on the water and gave the crew an opportunity to settle back into our rhythm.
Ocean City is always an incredible place to fish, but tournament week takes it to another level. Boats and crews come in from across the sportfishing community, the docks are packed and there's an energy surrounding the White Marlin Open that's hard to replicate anywhere else.
For the Breakers, we were happy to be right in the middle of it.
A Marlin Release for the Breakers
We didn't leave Ocean City with a spot on the leaderboard, but that doesn't mean we left without a few moments worth remembering.
The crew connected with a marlin during the tournament and successfully completed the release, giving us one of the highlights of the week and exactly the kind of action we came to Ocean City looking for.
That's tournament fishing.
Every time you leave the inlet, you know the opportunity is out there. Sometimes everything comes together for a trip to the scales. Other times, the reward is simply finding the fish, making the most of your opportunities and enjoying a good day offshore with the crew.
This week was one of those reminders.
A Great Week in Ocean City
The White Marlin Open has built its reputation over more than five decades, and getting the opportunity to compete alongside such a strong field is always something we appreciate.
For RI Breakers AC, the 2026 tournament was also an important week for another reason.
We had El Bendido back underneath us.
The boat ran great, the crew was back fishing together and we got to spend several days doing what this team was built to do.
Of course, we always want to compete. We always want the big bite, and we'll always be looking for our opportunity to put a fish on the board.
But not every great tournament weekend needs a trophy attached to it.
Sometimes it's about the boat, the crew, a marlin release and being back offshore.
Ocean City gave us all of that.
